By 1954 Frank Sinatra was firmly established as one of the biggest stars of Hollywood, having won an Oscar the year before for Best Supporting Actor for From Here To Eternity. Despite this film success and the growing demands that it brought, Frank was always mindful that it was his singing career that had established his reputation. There were to be two albums released in this year, 'Songs For Young Lovers' and 'Swing Easy', the two albums that would later inspire Robbie Williams and Westlife to do Frank Sinatra tributes. Both albums performed well in America, hitting number three on the charts in March ('Songs For Young Lovers') and September ('Swing Easy'). Originally released as 10” albums, they are highly sought after items by Sinatra collectors. This release therefore, which combines both albums on one CD, is one that will appeal to all Frank Sinatra aficionados. |
